Profession of Faith

We, the Bethany Pentecostal Church Incorporation, are a church whose foundations are based in the Pentecostal movement born in Jerusalem after the Lord ascended to heaven. This movement began in 1906 when many Christians from different denominational backgrounds gathered together to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit, as stated in Joel 2.28, Luke 24.49 e Acts 1.8. We believe in the whole Scripture (Holy Bible) as a rule of faith and practice, as mentioned in the 16 paragraphs below:

1. We believe in one God, eternally subsisting in three distinguished persons, God the Father, God the Son and the God the Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:24; Matt. 28:19; Mark 12:29).

2. We believe in the verbal and divine inspiration of the Holy Bible, the only infallible rule of faith for the life and character of the Christian (2 Tim. 3:14-17).

3. We believe in Jesus Christ's virgin birth, in His vicarious and expiatory death, in His corporal resurrection from the dead and in His glorious ascension to Heaven (Is. 7:14; Luke 1:26-31; Acts 1:9).

4. We believe that the sinfulness of man, shorted him from the glory of God and that, only through repentance of his sin and the faith in Jesus Christ's expiatory work may him be restored (Rom. 3:23; 10:9; Acts 3:19).

5. We believe in the absolute need to be born again by faith in Jesus Christ - Yeshua HaMashiach, by the overwhelming power of the Holy Spirit and by the efficacy of God's word, in order to change a human being, enabling him to inherit eternal life in heaven (John 3:3-8; 3:16; Rom. 10:17).

6. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, in the present perfect salvation and eternal justification of the soul, freely received from God through Jesus Christ (Acts 10:43; Rom. 3:24-26; 10:13; Heb. 5:9).

7. We believe in the biblical baptism brought forth by the immersion of the whole body at once: a. Method of the Baptism – by immersion; b: Procedure of the Baptism - in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; c. Authority of the Baptism – in the name of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2.38; Rom. 6:1-6; Col. 6:12).

8. We believe in the Holy Communion as a symbol of Christ Jesus' vicarious sacrifice, a Christian's communion privilege between him and his savior, officialized with the two distinct physical elements: the fruit of the vine and the bread (Matt. 26:26-29; 1 Cor. 11:23-33).

9. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit - Ruach HaKodesh, which is ministered upon us by Jesus Christ, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues and in the actuality of the nine spiritual gifts, ministered by the Holy Ghost to edify the church (Prov. 1:23; Is. 35:6, 7; Joel 2:28; Matt. 3:11; Mark. 16:16; Acts 1:5; 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:1-7; 1 Cor. 12:1-12; 14:2,4).

10. We believe that the sanctification takes place in two phases: the first is a definite one, done by Jesus Christ, withdrawing the new Christian from the world; the second is a progressive one, maintained by the Christian, who will stay away from the pernicious effects of the present world, in demonstration of God's Eternal power and your faithfulness to the savior (John 17:19; Heb. 9:14; 1 Pet. 1:15; 1 John 2:15).

11. We believe in the distinct specific ministerial call of a Christian, by Jesus Christ, in order to evangelize the world and edify the Church (Mark 16:15-20; Eph. 4:11-16; 1 Tim. 4:6-16).

12. We believe that all Christians, after the rapture of the church, will be present at Christ's judgment day, in heaven, to receive their reward for their achievements toward Christ work on earth (Mark 16:20; Luke 24:49; Acts 2:45-47; Rev. 14:13).

13. We believe in Jesus' pre-millennial second coming, in two distinguished phases, the first, invisible to the world, to enrapture the church from the world, before the great tribulation - the second, visible and also with the glorified church, to destroy the Antichrist's empire, for Israel's salvation, to judge the nations and to establish the millennium (1 Cor. 15:51-54; 1 Thess. 4:16,17; Jude 1:14; Rev. 17:14; 20:4).

14. We believe in the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus with His Church with which he will establish peace and recompense all nations that were worthy during the Great Tribulation (Ps. 72:38; Ezek. 37:21,22; Mal. 4:3,4; Zech. 3:19,20; Rom. 11:27,30; Rev. 1:7).

15. We believe in the coming judgment that it will condemn the unfaithful and close the physical dispensation of the human being on the face of this earth (Dan. 12:2; Matt. 25:46; Rev. 20:11-15; Mark 9:43-48; Rev. 19:20; 20:11-15).

16. We believe in the New Heavens, in the New World, in the Eternal joy for the faithful and the condemnation for the unfaithful (Matt. 25:46; Mark 16:16; 2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:22).
